Position Summary

Come and join our team of specialists at the Equine Veterinary Medical Center, located in the heart of Al Shaqab and Qatar Foundation’s Education City, in Doha, Qatar.

This is an amazing opportunity for a veterinarian with a background in equine practice looking to develop existing skills and learn new ones under the guidance of our team of specialists and highly experienced practitioners. As the only hospital of its kind in the state of Qatar, we offer services not only to the world class Arabian horses of Al Shaqab, but also to all horses in the country. This includes international sport horses competing at the Al Shaqab Longines Arena (which is located just minutes from the hospital), racehorses, pleasure horses and other show horses from all over the country.

Responsibilities

The 18 month rotating internship offers candidates a unique and exciting opportunity to work with board-certified diplomats in surgery, internal medicine and reproduction, pathology and radiology, and grow their skill-set in a hospital with a diverse and exciting case-load. The intern will rotate through the major specialties, working alongside a full team of assistants, nurses and experienced veterinarians, to foster critical thinking, clinical decision-making, and technical proficiency. The intern will participate in the provision of out-of-hours care, with the support of the team.

Qualifications and Experience

The Internship will commence in July 2023 and the ideal candidate will have a strong interest in equine veterinary medicine.

The candidate will also be motivated to continue on to a residency or similar further training and have an interest in experiencing life in the Gulf.
